WYCKOFF, N.J. — Cindy Muni of Wyckoff used what she called her psychic gift to help others find direction in life or cope with problems.

Muni, who moved to Wyckoff 24 years ago, provides psychic readings out of her home. She started taking classes in the field around when her daughter was born 20 years ago and now learns about each and every person who visits her intimately.

"I feel things," Muni told Daily Voice. "It's like peeling an onion, or it's like walking around someone in a circle. I see many different aspects of their personality."

Muni said she had moments of clairvoyance as a young girl. Her most notable vision came while in high school when she saw her brother run through a glass door.

Only it hadn't happened yet.

A few weeks later her brother did run through a glass door, she said, but after her prayers following her first sight of the incident, he came out of it unharmed.

Muni attended the University of Illinois and Boston Art Institute but said she wanted a venue to help people while she raised her family.

When visitors come to her Wyckoff home, she asks them to bring photos of people close to them, and an open mind

"I don't feel my job is trying to prove I'm psychic," she said. "I'm trying to help people with certain problems. Sometimes people know what they should do, but they need to talk it out."

Muni said her guests often see her as a therapist, or substitute for a confessional, but either way it makes her happy when she feels she helped someone.

She said she continues to learn new things all the time, which anyone could do.

"I believe that everyone is psychic," Muni said. "People just don't want to call it that. They'll call it intiution, or you get feelings all the time. People talk about 'trust your gut,' well that's your psychic feeling."
