FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- The borough of Franklin Lakes and Waste Management are sponsoring a Shred Day for residents looking to shred their personal documents.
The event, scheduled for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on April 15, is to take place at the Franklin Lakes Recycling Center, which is located at the Department of Public Works, 500 DeKorte Drive. It is open to borough residents only.
In addition to securely shredding their personal papers, people are urged to bring their unwanted plastic bags, which also will be recycled.
Those who attend will be able to observe their documents being shredded via a camera system contained within the shredding truck.
Shredding material can include tax returns, personal papers, old bills, cancelled checks and other documents. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips or rubber bands.
