WYCKOFF, N.J. — An eight-day holiday will start with an afternoon of fun at a Wyckoff temple on Dec. 6.
Temple Beth Rishon will host a Hanukkah Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29.
The annual event includes laser tag, a magician, arts and crafts and more games. It will also offer mimosas for the parents.
Gonen Arad, the religious school director at Beth Rishon, said the day will blend remembrances and teachings with games. A candlelight ceremony will start the day at 10:30 a.m.
The arts and crafts will be Hanukkah themed and traditional Jewish foods like latkes will be served.
With so many holiday events in December, Arad said it is good to have one dedicated to Hanukkah.
"People are looking for fun events," he told Daily Voice, "and if you can relate it to a Jewish tradition it always makes it better."
The event costs $10 for children, $5 for adults and $25 maximum for a family. It is open to anyone.
"Usually it's very crowded," Arad said. "It's going to be a really, really nice event."
