Oakland Public Library Opens Concert Series

OAKLAND, N.J. – The New Friends of the Oakland Public Library organization is presenting a "Sunday Afternoon Concert Series" starting Oct. 25 at the Presbyterian Church of New Jersey, 222 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland.

The opera soloist will be Richard Bernstein of The Metropolitan Opera. Other performers are Elizabeth Martyn, piano; Laura Hamilton and Jeehae Lee, violins; Francesca Martin Silos, viola; and Lanny Paykin, cello.

The program features Mozart's Madamina, il catalogo e quest from Don Giovanni, Leigh's The Impossible Dream (The Quest) from Man of La Mancha, and works from Beethoven, Verdi, Puccini, and Schumann.

The concert will begin at 4 p.m. Donations are happily accepted, but the concert is free.

The space is wheelchair accessible.
