WYCKOFF, N.J. — Four Wyckoff churches have teamed up with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in an effort to stem the rise in heroin addiction across the region with a special program tonight, Oct. 19.
“A Path to Addiction,” at Cornerstone Christian Church, will address the growing problem of addition in the community.Cornerstone is co-hosting the event along with Hawthorne Gospel Church, St. Elizabeth's Church and Wyckoff Reformed Church.
The free event comes amid intense efforts by Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli, police chiefs throughout Bergen County and others to fight heroin addiction at the local level.
“Too many of our residents are suffering from the disease of drug addiction and too many lives have been lost, particularly young lives, to the scourge of drug abuse,” Wyckoff Mayor Kevin Rooney said in a community call to action. “It is time for us to increase and combine resources on the local municipal level to fight this problem like our lives counted on it -- because they do.”
The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at Cornerstone, 95 Wyckoff Ave.
