Sam Huff, who moved to Franklin Lakes in 1968, turns 81 Sunday.
Huff, a former linebacker for the New York Giants and Washington Redskins, was born Oct. 4, 1934 in Edna Gas, W. Va.
Huff attended and played football at West Virginia University and was drafted by the New York Giants in 1956. After eight seasons with the Giants, Huff joined Washington in 1964, where he played four more seasons.
During his professional football career, Huff played in four consecutive Pro Bowls with the Giants and one with Washington.
Huff was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1982. He also worked for 38 years as a radio analyst for Washington.
