WYCKOFF, N.J. -- The Wyckoff Y’s Golf Classic Committee has named Ray Hopkins honorary chair for this year's event Wednesday Sept. 28 at Arcola Country Club in Paramus.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Wyckoff Y Cares, a fund dedicated to the memory of Mike O’Shea and Pietro Maugeri, two individuals dedicated to helping those in need and to the betterment of their community, according to a press release.
Hopkins is president of Television Networks Distribution for CBS Corporation, where he works to secure new retransmission and affiliation agreements for CBS’s broadcast and cable networks, including the CBS Television Network, Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network and Smithsonian Networks. He also heads up negotiations for distribution deals with CBS’s more than 60 affiliated television station groups.
He has been a key supporter of the Wyckoff Y Cares initiative since it was created in memory of his friend, O’Shea, according to a press release. Mike was Godfather to Ray’s daughter, Grace.
Hopkins remains committed to the local community and various outreach efforts with a special interest in honoring the memory of O’Shea and Maugeri, according to a press release.
O'Shea was a special agent with the New York office of the DEA. He lived with his family in Wyckoff until he passed away at 44.
Pietro was a well-known local barber and triathlete from Ho-Ho-Kus, who always lived life to the fullest. His legacy of helping others lives on today.
