OAKLAND, N.J. -- Officials from the Coalition Against Pilgrim Pipeline urged Oakland lawmakers to pass an ordinance to ban unregulated pipelines according NorthJersey.com.
Residents raised concerns to the borough council at an Oct. 14 meeting that the proposed ban would not stand up to legal scrutiny and could be preempted by federal or state authority.
Ken Dolsky, a volunteer with CAPP, disagreed, saying the organization looked into the matter, and felt an outright ban would hold up, NorthJersey.com reported.
