FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. – Alessio Cerra (Al the Barber) of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., died Monday, March 21. He was 92.
He was a self-employed barber for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Wyckoff Lions Club and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was the husband of Margaret (Chase) of Franklin Lakes; father of Karen (Tony) Calabese of Wanaque, Sharon (James) Nall of Franklin Lakes, Kenneth (Robin) Cerra of Freehold, Debbie Mueller of Allendale, and Donald Cerra of Wyckoff; grandfather of Tony, Joey, Danielle, Pamela, Tracy, Bryan, Brittany, Matthew, Cait, Kimberly and Michael; great-grandfather of 11 great-grandchildren; and brother of Ida Cerra of Wyckoff.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Cerra.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m.-noon at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lions Club of Wyckoff in his memory would be appreciated.
