OAKLAND, N.J. – Alice Ruitenberg, a resident of Oakland, died Thursday, Jan. 14. She was 84.
Prior to her retirement, she served on the Oakland First Aid Squad, was a member of the ECCR Auxiliary, worked for the Ramapo/Indian Hills Regional Board of Education and was a secretary for Indian Hills High School. Ruitenberg was a member of Faith Community Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff.
She is survived by her children Larry Ruitenberg and his wife Paula of Hawthorne, Jackie Collins and her husband Sean, of Midland Park and Don Ruitenberg and his wife Shirley also of Midland Park. She also is grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of eight. She also was the sister of Harold Dyer of Wyckoff
Ruitenberg was predeceased by her husband John Ruitenberg, along with Jesse, Adna, John, Florence, Dorothy and Henry.
