OAKLAND, N.J. -- Oakland resident Audrey Leparik (Stewart) died on Tuesday, Dec. 8. She was 89.
Leparik was born in Brooklyn in 1926, raised in Throgs Neck in the Bronx, and lived in Oakland for the past 62 years. She graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in Throgs Neck and went to work, commuting into Manhattan for her first job in a typing pool for F.R. Harris Co., and then as the confidential secretary to the president of a prestigious casualty insurance company.
Leparik was very active in the Oakland PTA, Oakland Blood Bank, and volunteered in the Heights School library. She went back to full time work in 1965 for the Ramapo Indian Hills High School District in the Guidance and Superintendents offices and retired in 1992 after 27 years.
Leparik is predeceased by her son, Gerald and siblings Robert and Delores Nettis.
She is survived by her husband Rudi; children Corinee and Jodi; several nieces and nephews and socres of friends.
