OAKLAND, N.J. -- Bernice Laird Kraus -- a Mechanicsville, Maryland, resident, formerly of Oakland, New Jersey -- died on Tuesday, May 17. She was 97.
Kraus was a secretary for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, in Oakland, for 35 years.
She is survived by her children, George, Mary Ann, Peter, Karen Shattuck, Bonnie Hoeger; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George; parents Thomas and Isabelle Laird; and a brother and two sisters.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd., in Oakland. Funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, with Father Tom officiating. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, in Mahwah.
