BettyJoyce Allen, 87, Longtime Wyckoff Resident

WYCKOFF, N.J. -- BettyJoyce Allen, of Wyckoff, died on Thursday, Jan. 12. She was 87.

Born in Clifton, Allen moved to Wyckoff when she was 2. Before she retired, she worked for Eastman Kodak for many years. 

She was a member of the Wyckoff Seniors and was serving as corresponding secretary and a member of the executive committee. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 76 of Midland Park and an active volunteer at Valley Hospital for many years. 

Allen was also a former 4H leader for the Seeing Eye and Hodge Podge clubs. 

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harold Allen of Wyckoff; daughters Cherlynn Lord and her husband Herrick of Blackwood, and Gail Costabile of Highland Lakes; grandchildren Jennifer Escolano, Jessica Lord-Vogel and Julian Lord; and great-grandchildren Kailey Vogel, Lindsey Vogel and Gavin Escolano.

Allen was also survived by her siblings, Ivy Lawrence of Newport, New Hampshire, and Kenneth Molenstra of Mahwah. She was preceded by her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Molenstra.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, at Vander Plaat Funeral Home, in Wyckoff. Interment was in Laurel Grove Cemetery, in Totowa.
