RINGWOOD, N.J. – Everdina (Postma) Deputato, of Ringwood, died Tuesday, June 14. She was 91.
Born in Brunssum, Netherlands, it is there she met her husband, “Frankie” Deputato, an American soldier. Despite having no common language, love flourished, and they married. With her husband’s tutelage and her own facility for language, she was soon fluent in English. She had a love for reading and could always be found with one book in her hand and one ready to be returned to the library.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucy Leonard; grandson, Daniel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; four sisters; and three brothers.
Viewing is private for family and close friends at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland.
