WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Huberta Smith, 91, of Wyckoff, died Thursday, Sept. 8. She was 91.

She was born in Paterson in 1924.

Upon her retirement from the Township of Wyckoff, she was the assistant treasurer and deputy tax collector.

She was a member of the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church in Wyckoff. She also volunteered at the Christian Health Care Center, the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat and The Corner Closet.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan and Kathleen; grandchildren, Larissa, Jacob and Lucas; five great-grandchildren; sister, Reanna; and brother Elroy Dyksen.

She was predeceased by her first husband, James M. Jacobs in 1978; and her second husband, John Smith in 1995.

A visitation will take place on at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will be in the Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Eastern Christian School Association, 50 Oakwood Ave, North Haledon, NJ 07508.
