Breaking News: East Bergen Trio Charged With Beating Maywood Man, Fleeing With $26,000

John William Wizeman IV, 60, Franklin Lakes Resident

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. – John William Wizeman IV of Franklin Lakes died Saturday, April 23, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. He was 60.

He battled glioblastoma for eight months. He was the first-born child of Mary Agnes and John William Wizeman III, both of whom predeceased him. He was born and raised in New York City, where he attended St. Agnes High School and he was named the school’s top graduating athlete. He attended Niagara University and later transferred to Pace University, where he graduated with a degree in accounting.

He had a long and successful career in management and operations, achieving progressively increased responsibilities as an executive of several successful organizations. Most recently, he was a managing director at JP Morgan Chase.

He had a deep Catholic faith and would often quietly attend church during his long days at work. He also had a deep concern about the environment and for those in need. Throughout his life, he gave greatly and anonymously to those in need; he paid the tuition of many in need without any fanfare. He spent countless hours assisting those affected by Hurricane Sandy and 9/11 victims.

He is survived by his wife, Dana (Mossler) Wizeman; his six children, Beth Garran (Clint), Caroline Hines (Gordon), John V. (Kate), Christopher, Joseph and William; his grandson, Gordan; his in-laws, Malakie and Richard Zogob; nine siblings, Robert (Vicky), Elizabeth Dollin (Edgar), Phillip, Stephen (Monica), Marguerite, Michael (Monica), Matthew (Ashley), Dennis (Renee) and James; and many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, April 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 787 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes. Interment will take place at Christ the King Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the children’s college funds at Merrill Lynch Attn: Sharpe Group, 5065 Westheimer, Suite 1200 Houston, TX 77056. Include Wizeman 529 in the memo section.
