OAKLAND, N.J. – Marie Bernadette Gerberi (nee Hegarty), of Oakland and formerly of Paterson and Elmwood Park, died Monday, Nov. 9. She was 72.
Gerberi was born and raised in Paterson and then Elmwood Park, earning masters' degrees in nursing and hospital administration and taught nursing for many years, starting at Felician College, then Elizabeth General Hospital and finally with Rockland Community College.
She was predeceased by her brother Charles Hegarty.
She is survived by her husband Larry, stepdaughter Lisa Donoho and her husband Neal of Alma, Ill., two grandsons and several cousins.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 787 Franklin Lake Road, Franklin Lakes.
Interment will be private.
