Marjorie A. Poppe, 78, Of Franklin Lakes

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Marjorie A. Poppe, a resident of Franklin Lakes and formerly of Waldwick, died Wednesday, May 11. She was 78.

Born June 6, 1937, in Newark, N.J., she was the second child to Elizabeth and Frederick Tauber.

She spent her childhood in Lyndhurst, marrying Walter H. Poppe Nov.25, 1955. Moving to Waldwick in 1965, she dedicated her life to raising their four sons and eventually her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Walter H. Poppe; three sons, Glen Poppe and his wife Gina of Franklin Lakes, Jeffrey Poppe and his wife Maureen of Waldwick and John Poppe and his wife Allison of Garfield; daughter-in-law Debra Poppe of Sloatsburg, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Wayne and his wife Jessie, Wesley, Wade, Christopher, Catherine and her husband Nick, Alexandra, Taylor, and Jaxx; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Kyle, and Quinn; sister, Elizabeth Seramba of Edison; brother, Frederick Tauber and his wife Mary, of Lyndhurst; brother-in-law, Warren Poppe of Bloomingdale; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Wayne W. Poppe; and her brother, Gerald Tauber.

Family and friends will be received from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will follow at noon at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Cremation will be private.
