OAKLAND, N.J. -- Neil R. Young, of Oakland, died on Monday, Feb. 6. He was 63.
Born in North Bergen, Young spent his career as a research chemist, beginning with Degen Oil in Jersey City, then Sun Chemical in Carlstadt and finally ending his career at SIKA in Lyndhurst. His work produced several patents.
He enjoyed collecting art and going to fairs, galleries and art shows.
Young is survived by his wife Kathy; siblings Gaye Sable and Roger Young; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, Alice and Leo Young.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, at Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Rd., in Oakland, with a 3:45 p.m. funeral service. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery & Crematory, in Paterson.
