Durante had a long career in radio, beginning when he served in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was an on-air personality, known for his comedy bits and impersonations, before becoming a radio production manager at WODS 103.3 FM.
There he produced jingles and commercials using his skills as a guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist. He also taught at North East Broadcast School in Boston.

Durante is survived by his children, Christopher Durante and his wife Christy, and Scott Durante; grandchildren Elizabeth, Jeweleanne, Hailey, Anthony, Charlotte, Julianna and Connor; and brother David Durante.
The Vander Plaat Memorial Home, in Paramus, is handling arrangements. A memorial service is to be scheduled at a later date, with private cremation.
