WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Rita M. Scoccola, 51, of Wyckoff, died Friday, Oct. 28.
She was born in Hoboken; she was a resident of Wyckoff the past 15 years.
She was an elementary school teacher for the River Edge Board of Education, most recently teaching at the Cherry Hill Elementary School. She was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff, a member of the N.J. Education Association and the American Museum of Natural History.
She was predeceased by her parents, Alberto and Caridad; and a brother, Alberto Villar.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Scoccola; daughter, Kayla M. Scoccola; son, Liam J. Scoccola; and sister, Jacqueline M. Rossello and her husband Anthony Jr.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff, Ave., Wyckoff. Entombment will follow at Maryrest Mausoleum in Mahwah.
