Virginia H. Knackmuhs, 65, Of Wyckoff

WYCKOFF, N.J. -- Virginia H. Knackmuhs, of Wyckoff, died Monday, Aug. 15. She was 65.

Born in Schenectady, N.Y., she was a longtime resident of Wyckoff.

After a long career in information technology, she retired from Roche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley.

After retirement, she devoted herself to the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network, serving as vice president and treasurer.

She enjoyed reading, writing, watching movies, and traveling. She was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Wyckoff.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Gary G. Knackmuhs, M.D.; daughter, Elizabeth K. Revere, M.D. and her husband David J. Revere, M.D.; sons, Eric G. Knackmuhs and Scott C. Knackmuhs; grandson, Alexander Revere; and brothers, Joseph A. Haynes and his wife Judie, Brother Charles R. Haynes and Peter J. Haynes and his wife Elizabeth.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
