The Franklin Lakes squad – Capt. Jeremy Donch, Lt. Max Chazen, and firefighters Mike Piccoli, Sebby Rollo, Mike Jost and Joe Fitzmaurice – completed the drill in the fastest time and took first place overall Saturday, edging out the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department.

"Very proud of the boys today as they took trophies home," Chief Ryan Dodd said in a Facebook post.

The teams use the necessary tools and equipment to remove two "patients" – in this case, dummies – from a vehicle.

Garfield firefighters finished third and Ho-Ho-Kus second in Saturday's 14-squad competition and Family Fun Day at the Meadows Office Complex on Route 17 in Rutherford.
