Hawthorne Man Tells Franklin Lakes Police Armed Trio Mugged Him

FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. -- Franklin Lakes police were investigating a Hawthorne man's claim that three people who agreed to buy alcohol for him stole $30 and a backpack full of clothes.

The 19-year-old complainant told police he met the trio in March on Vichiconti Way, got into their car and gave them the cash.

At that point, one of them pulled out a handgun and ordered him out of the car.
