Investigators who watched as sales went down moved in at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday and arrested Marshall Stevenson on various drug and weapons charges, Police Director Jerry Speziale said.

Found during a raid of the house on the corner of East 28th Street -- across from the Paterson Public Schools 14th Avenue Early Learning Center -- Speziale said, were:

  • 3,148 bags of heroin;
  • an AR-15 Anderson Manufacturing assault rifle;
  • a .357 Magnum Python Hunter handgun;
  • a 30-round 5.56 magazine.

Stevenson remained held in the Passaic County Jail pending further court action.

“This is a major arrest with the quantity of drugs and high power weapons taken off our streets," Speziale said.

"I am inspired by the tireless efforts displayed by the men and women," the director said. "We will continue one block, bag and dangerous weapon at a time making a safer Paterson.”
