GARFIELD, N.J. -- Garfield Police Chief Raymond Kovach joined community affairs and school resource officers in making some new friends at Tuesday's "Community Helper Day" at the city's Pre-K Annex.

The youngsters also got to hop inside a police vehicle -- always a hit.
Kovach said his department "continues to strive to forge positive relationships with the city’s preschool students."
