Second Wayward Tractor-Trailer This Week Jams Washington Township Road

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. – For the second time in less than a week, a steep Washington Township hill tripped up a tractor-trailer, temporarily closing a busy road.

Washington Avenue was temporarily closed until the rig could be removed.

Township police instructed the driver to turn around in a nearby cul-de-sac in order to safely re-enter Washington Avenue.

However, he couldn’t complete the turn, and his rig got stuck in a pile of snow-covered leaves – requiring a heavy-duty wrecker to remove it.

Police issued two summonses to the driver after consulting with a Bergen County sheriff's traffic officer.
