YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Eisenhower Middle School in Wyckoff was on temporary lockdown this morning after an employee working on the roof “made some threatening comments” to a co-worker, police said.

“We responded and spoke to him,” Police Lt. Charles Van Dyke told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

The maintenance worker was taken to Bergen Regional Medical Center for an evaluation shortly after the 11:12 a.m. incident, the lieutenant said.

“He’s got some issues. He’s under a lot of stress,” the lieutenant said.

No children were considered in any danger, he said.

The school was put into lockdown “out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of staff and students,” Schools Supt. Richard D. Kuder said in an email this afternoon to parents.

“The Wyckoff Police Department was called to address the situation and the matter was dealt with swiftly and effectively,” Kuder added. “Our emergency lockdown procedures ensured the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

“At approximately 11:45 a.m. the building resumed its regular schedule. All students and staff are safe and have resumed their normal activity,” he said.
