Haskell Man Accused Of Sex With Child, 9, Has Teaching License Suspended

WANAQUE, N.J. — A Haskell man recently had his teaching license suspended pending the outcome of charges that he raped a 9-year-old in 2005, an incident that occurred before he was a teacher.

Luke V. Bakula in 2015 was charged with two counts of first degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second degree sexual assault and two counts of third degree endangering the welfare of a child. He was 27 at the time.

On June 15, the State Board of Examiners formally adopted its written decision to suspend Bakula's certificate pending resolution of the criminal proceedings against him.
