District officials spent $30,000 to install the LobbyGuard Visitor System in all five district schools, NorthJersey.com reported.
Though it may take some time for everyone to get used to it, school and police officials, along with parents, agree that it is worth the effort, according NorthJersey.com.
With the new system, all visitors will have to scan the bar code on their driver's licenses, answer questions about their visit, and take a photo for a badge. Frequent visitors can get a key fob that links to their scanned information to make the process easier on subsequent visits, NewJersey.com said.
