Franklin Lakes Runner Takes 3rd Place In Annual Paramus 5K

PARAMUS, N.J. — The  39th annual Terri Roemer Paramus Run was held on Oct. 15 with 10K, 5K and Fun Run categories.

Nearly 1,000 people participated and the event will provide $25,000 or more in scholarships to high school students next spring.

RESULTS:

The Marty Roemer Memorial 10K (6.2 miles) was won by Kyle Price of Milltown in a time of 33:33 (averaging 5:24 per mile). Second and third place finishers were Sam Teigen of Hawthorne and Andrew Seaver of Jersey City.

In the women’s event, Aya Leitz of Jersey City ran comfortably, finishing in 43:30. The race for second and third was very close, with Barbara Willcok of Ridgefield Park edging Lisa Swain of Fair Lawn.

Top Paramus finishers in the 10K were Andrew Lefer, at 38.08 and Jess Setless at 45.53. More than 40 Paramus residents completed the 10K.

The Lou Lanzalotto Memorial 5K (3.1 miles) was won by Chris Anderson of Ramsey, in a time of 16:29 (5:18 per mile). Sam Teigen of Hawthorne finished 2nd in this race as well, with Paul Kartanowicz of West Orange edging Paramus’ Danny Paolazzi for 3rd place.

In the women’s event, 13-year old Camryn Wennersten of Ridgewood was a repeat winner, finished in 18.39, ahead of her 2016 winning time. This placed her 9th overall in the 5K. Second place was taken by Onyi Obelle of Hackensack. Allison Lounsbury of Franklin Lakes completed the top three.

Paramus winners in the 5K were Danny Paolazzi in 17.52 and 18 year old Paulie Cho, at 21.06. More than 110 Paramus residents completed this event.
