Cell Phone, Internet Service Interruptions Expected In Kent: Here's When
A series of scheduled network updates may cause some cell phone and internet service interruptions in a Hudson Valley town, police announced.
As a result of planned upgrades to the Verizon network in Putnam County near Kent Lakes, Verizon customers in the Kent area may experience service interruptions in the next week, the Town of Kent Police Department announced on Thursday, March 7.
According to an alert from Verizon, in some cases, the work may last as long as two weeks.

A woman faces charges after crashing her car into a dumpster while allegedly driving drunk on St. Patrick's Day in the Hudson Valley, police said.
On Friday, March 17, around 10:30 p.m., police in Putnam County responded to Tonianne Drive in Kent for a reported vehicle crash, according to Kent Police.
There, they found that a woman had crashed her gray Honda Accord into a dumpster container.

A Hudson Valley man is in trouble after he crashed his vehicle into the woods while drunk, police said.
On Tuesday, Dec. 13, around 11:30 a.m., police in Kent found a vehicle that had left the roadway and crashed into the woods on Horsepound Road at the intersection with Route 52, according to Kent Police.

Democratic New York Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, who represents the 95th Assembly District, has announced her retirement from public office after 30 years of service.
Galef, an 82-year-old resident of Ossining, said that she would retire from her seat at the end of 2022 in an announcement on Thursday, Dec. 15.
