WYCKOFF, N.J. — Summer 2015 came its traditional end this weekend with the 58th annual fireworks spectacular by the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department.
The community came together for food, music, rides and games of chance prior to the main event.
The annual Labor Day fireworks is the all-volunteer Wyckoff fire department's largest fundraiser of the year.
WVFD is staffed by resident volunteers who train every Monday night to develop and fine-tune skills such as search & rescue techniques, fire suppression, fire ground communication and rescue of persons trapped in vehicles.
In 2014, Wyckoff volunteers responded to 507 fire alarms, devoted 27,126 man-hours responding to emergencies and attended 11,584 hours of training sessions.
Any residents interested in becoming a member of the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department, please stop by your local fire house any Monday night between 7 and 9 p.m. For additional information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
