"Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and an avid New York Mets fan," information from the funeral home noted.
Dowd is survived by her children, Debra Cronin, Patricia Somers, Eileen Byrnes, John Dowd and Kerry Dowd-Ramos; grandchildren Daniel, Shannon, Katelyn, Madeline, Jack, Timothy and Casey; and siblings, Maureen O'Connell, John Connors and Eileen Shanahan.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 E Ridgewood Ave., in Ridgewood. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, at Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament, in Franklin Lakes. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery, in Farmingdale, New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to the church, by mail to 787 Franklin Lake Rd., Franklin Lakes, NJ 07417.
