YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A motorist who Wyckoff police said had been drinking drove her car off the road and into a wall before she pulled into her driveway and was found sprawled on her lawn, Chief Benjamin C. Fox said this morning.
A resident summoned police just after 1 a.m. Saturday after seeing the car “swerve down the road,” drive off the corner of Yale Avenue and Andover Street and hit the wall, Fox said.
The motorist then drove off, the caller said.
Using the license-plate number the caller provided, Sgt. Michael Ragucci and Officers Brenda Groslinger and Michael DeMaio went to the home of 30-year-old Mary Klein of Mary Ann Drive.
There they found Klein on the lawn, Fox said.
Klein, who was intoxicated, “denied being the driver of the vehicle” and “refused to identify who was,” the chief said.
She was charged with obstruction of justice and released pending a July 17 Municipal Court hearing.
